Preferred Engineering has extensive experience applying OSHA CFR 1910.119, Process Safety Management (PSM) of Highly Hazardous Chemicals. Our team has received PHA facilitation training through AIChE and LOPA training via Primatech. Beyond regulatory compliance, PE supports project objectives, process initiatives, and procedure development to ensure safe and compliant operations.

PE has facilitated numerous HAZOP studies across a wide range of projects, including refineries, polymers, petrochemicals, LPG compression and storage, ship and barge loading/unloading systems, and vapor combustion and recovery units. Using Primatech PHAWorks, P&IDs are divided into nodes for team discussion. Guidewords such as less, more, reverse, and misdirected are applied to parameters including flow, pressure, temperature, level, and composition.

Deviations are analyzed collaboratively, with worksheets and action item resolution forms generated directly in PHAWorks. Node design intentions, facility siting checklists, and relevant previous incidents are documented to provide comprehensive context. All action items are assigned risk levels using a severity/probability matrix to prioritize mitigation efforts effectively.
